Which is the best event management system to use? by Dr Rangana Choudhuri
Over the past year I have investigated a variety of different event management software's. Here is my summary of the programs available:
| Payment | Usability | Overall recommendation | |
| Reg on-line | £2.99 per delegate that registers | This is the champagne of event management. It has many useful functions, for example being able to review activity by delegate as well as event. In addition it remembers delegates so they do not have to input all their data every time. The only downside is that it takes time to set up and get used to the functionality. I have to say though the help desk are very helpful. | Yes, a bit expensive and takes some time to set up |
| Event brite | 2.5% of ticket value plus $0.99 and upto a max of $9.95 per delegate 3% for credit card or google check out processing | Easy to use intuitive system, however very expensive. | Worth it for Free events and events with less than 10 delegates. Otherwise too expensive. |
| Event Elephant | 4.75% of ticket price 2.75% payment fee Free personal events are free Free business events charged at £2 per delegate | Easy to use intuitive system, however very expensive. | No, not cost-effective. Only good for free personal events. |
| Event bee | Only $1 per delegate | Easy to use system. Ability to copy events. The only down-side is delegates have to enter their data each time they book onto an event and the credit card payment is via paypal. | Yes, very cost-effective |

All event management systems link to social media as standard. We will be trialing another system at the end of the year which is very exciting and integrates event management with e-mail newsletters as well as contact management system. It will revolutionize the market and we are looking forward to working with them. Will keep you posted.
